A case-bound A5 book, 148 × 210 mm, built from its page count and paper. Add your cover artwork, open it, leaf through it, and export a transparent PNG at up to 4096 px.
A5 (148 × 210 mm) is the most common size for self-published novels, journals and notebooks in Europe, and the size most print-on-demand services quote first. Case-bound, the cover boards overhang the pages on three sides, so the closed book is a few millimetres bigger than its trim size; the "As built" strip gives the built size.
The mockup builds the book the way a bindery does: the spine thickness comes from the page count and the paper caliper, the boards are greyboard wrapped in a laminated printed sheet, and there is a groove between each board and the spine. A 240-page book on standard 80 g/m² paper gives a spine wide enough for a title that reads on a shelf; the panel shows its width.
Use it to check a cover design before you order a proof, to show a client the book in the hand, or to make a listing image for a store. The artwork sizes shown in the panel are the print sizes, so a cover file made for this mockup fits the printer's template.
The sizes in the Artwork panel at 300 dpi; the front, back and spine sizes shown there are the print sizes for this book.
